A major challenge we face in public K-12 education today—and, we assert, in other sectors of our society—is the invisibility of the underlying values, attitudes, and beliefs of the dominant U.S. majority that have allowed disparities to persist for generations.

The work at West Wind Education Policy Foundation helps key stakeholders and leaders investigate their own mental models and open up new ways to frame and approach the issues we care so deeply about. We hope to join with an expanding pool of thought partners, project collaborators, clients, and funders around the development of ideas and a program of work that can create a movement to transform our public systems toward the elimination of disparities.
